GIRLS BASKETBALL: Westphalia girls are concluding their basketball season with league tournament play at Pleasanton We will play in the A-team bracket. Their first game will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2nd against Moran at 6:15

The WINTER PROGRAM is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16th
at 7:00 p.m The Drama Class is working on a presentation of “A Story Book Christmas”. The music & band classes are also preparing their special music. The program will be followed by refreshments in the school cafeteria, with treats provided by the Lions Club.

Spirit week will be next week (December 1st - 5th). The days will be as follows: Monday-Twin Day; Tuesday-Blue & Gold Day; Wednesday-Stuffed Animal Day; Thursday-Crazy Sock & Crazy Hat Day; Friday-Spirit of Christmas Day (wear red & green and bring a can of food for the less fortunate)

Christmas parties will be held on Friday, December 19th at 12:00 noon. We will have an early dismal of 1:00 (buses load at 12:45). Students should bring a gift costing no more than $5.00 for their classroom gift exchange. Parents who have volunteered for Christmas parties are as follows: K- April Stewart, Craig Cole; 1st-Marsha Hirt; 2nd-Julie Edgecomb, Reva Pracht; 3rd-LeAnn Schroeder; 4th-Donna Dieker, Kim Spencer; 5th-Karen Edgecomb, Susan Schillig; 6th- Candy Beachy

Scholar Bowl Tryouts were held and team members were selected. Representing Westphalia in the League Scholar Bowl competitions
beginning in January are 8th Grade - Wyatt Pracht, Drew Mechnig,
Cameron Parks; 7th Grade - Bryce Dieker, Sarah Stewart, Ian Comfort,
Storm Pracht, Andrew Jackson; 6th Grade - Lillian Richardson & Asa Young

We will be participating again this year in the Spirit of Christmas drive. As in the past, things such as paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, soap, etc. are always needed. Non-perishable food items are always welcome as well. Donations will be accepted through Thurs., Dec. 11th.

A 6th grade quiz bowl was held today at ACJSHS. Participating teams were: GEC, Mont Ida, Westphalia & Greeley. Team members for Westphalia were: Lillian Richardson, Asa Young, Kyle Tate, Porter Sherman and Glen Thweatt was the alternate. The winner was GEC and Westphalia took 2nd place.
